Jatujak Weekend Market

On Saturday, I went to ABAC because I had to print the report for my brother, then I went to The Mall Bangkapi because I had appointment with my friend named Ploy because she begged me to help her about English presentation. When we finished the presentation we saw the movie “American Gangster” This movie is about mafia gang and there is the trial in the final of movie. I thought about my English lesson. After that I went to Central Ramindra because I had appointment with my mother.

On Sunday, I had appointment with my friend named Mo who was my friend since I studied in secondary school. She is my best friend; we did not meet since we graduated high school. We had appointment at Union Mall, 11 o’clock but I arrived on time. I bought a gift for her birthday at Central Ladprow that reason why I arrived on time. We did not meet for long time so we hug around when we met together. Then we had lunch because we waited the shops was open. I brought a dress, it is punk style, it is 440 baht. We thought the shops at Union Mall are very expensive so we decided to go to Jatujak Weekend Market or JJ. It is near Union Mall and Central Ladprow because it links by underground train.

Chatuchak Market owes its origin to Field Marshal Plaek Phibulsongkram, the late prime minister of Thailand (1938-1944, 1948-1957), who came up with the idea of setting up a flea market in every town. As a result, the first flea market in Bangkok was held at Sanam Luang and was called Sanam Luang flea Market. However, there was time when the place was needed for other special functions and the flea market was then relocated to Saranrom Palace and settled there for 8 years. After that, it was moved again to Sanam Chai. But because of the limited space, it had to be moved back to Sanam Luang. In the same year, the government issued a policy to turn Sanam Luang into a public park for citizens of Bangkok and to be the venue to celebrate 200-year-anniversary of Bangkok, which would be held in 1982. Thus, it was decided that the flea market would be held at the Phahonyothin area from then on and it is later called Chatuchak Market after the nearby park under the same name. Jatujak Weekend Market is the mother of all markets and possibly one of the biggest and most famous markets in the world. At Jatujak Weekend Market, there are many sale clothes. Though there are many markets throughout Bangkok, Chatuchak Weekend Market is still pretty much the undisputed king of them all. We walked pass many shops and rested at drink shop, we order strawberry soda; it was 30 baht and tested was good. I brought 3 shorts; it is black, brown and pink, one yellow dress and one waistcoat. Mo brought one purple shorts, 2 t-shirt and 2 dress. I paid for all clothes about 1,300 baht and Mo paid about 900 baht. There are many things that I wanted to buy but I thought it was waste. We separate about 4 P.M., Mo went to her boyfriend’s house and I went back home. It was rain so I was wet until I arrived home, I did not like raining because it was muddy.

Siam Ocean World

Have you been at Siam Ocean World?

On Friday 25 January, my friends and I went to Siam Paragon. At first we planned to see a movie named “Enchanted” but Bank did not come with us so we changed the program. After we had lunch already, we took many photos at Siam Paragon. Then we went to Siam Ocean World, the highlight of this month is an octopus that they frozen in -10c degree.

Siam Ocean World is the underwater in Southeast Asia’s largest aquarium among 400 extraordinary species of sea animals. There are many rare animals such as the ragged-tooth shark, magnificent rays, graceful sea jellies, penguins and etc. There is the glass bottom boat that immerses you into the gorgeous scenery. The especially is scuba that you can enjoy an experience with their professional scuba instructor’s who will guide you though an exciting dive side by side various type of sharks, rays and other colorful fishes.

Siam Ocean World divided into 7 zones.

First Zone is Weird and wonderful. : The animal in this zone are all unique and even bizarre such as Pharaoh Cuttlefish, Horseshoe Crab, Weedy Sea dragon and etc.

Second Zone is Deep Reef.
: The Deep Reef Zone displays some of most beautiful and fascinating reef inhibiters in the world such as Three-Spot Angelfish, Long-nose Unicorn fish, Hump head Maori Wrasse and etc.

Third Zone is Living Ocean.
: This zone explains about the rules of survival that animals must find food, protect themselves against predators, adapt to the environment, and reproduce such as Mantis Shrimp, Stonefish, Sargassum Angelfish and etc.

Forth Zone is Rainforest.
: The rainforest is a very complex ecosystem. There are the world’s largest fresh water fishes and other animals such as the ancient lungfish, blind cave fish, giant water rat, playful otter and primitive reptiles such as Mekong Giant Catfish, Oriental Small-clawed Otter and etc.

Fifth Zone is Rocky Shore.
: The animals of this zone are required to have special adaptation skills to survive the pounding waves, intense sunlight, and keen-eyed predators such as Spotted Seal, Red Sea Star and etc.

Sixth Zone is Open Ocean.
: This zone shows the weak relationship between predators and preys in the open ocean. There are large predatory sharks, rays, and giant groupers live alongside schools if fish such as Golden Trevally, Slander Suckerfish and etc.

Seventh Zone is Sea Jellies
: This zone is about the sea jellies that are amazing and mysterious creatures with no brain, no skeletal and few internal organs. They are the one of the most widespread species on earth such as moon jelly.

I was impressive about sixth zone “Open Ocean” because I had been dream that I want to see the real sharks which I had been see it in the television. I felt scared when I saw the sharks because they is very big and look like ferocious.

Happiness

On the last Wednesday, I had class at 8.00 am until 12.30 pm and 3.30 pm until 5.00 pm but my friends and I did not go to class, so we had many time to do something during waiting to learn next subject (World Civilization)

@Karaoke

At first, my friends and I went to “Pra-Ram-9-Kai-Yai”, it was restaurant that about Som Tum, chicken fried. There were 7 persons and my best friend named Aui was going to there. We decided to go to The Mall Bangkapi for sing a song at Karaoke centre. We choose an hour in big room, this package was 299 baht and there were French fired and a jug of Pepsi. We sang a song together, I never brave before because I am so shy and I always think that my voice did not melodious but this time everyone sang together that make me brave. Although my friend named Bank did not sang only but he took photos for us. After an hour later we consulted that we would sang for an hour or checked out, then we checked out because Phee wanted to buy a gift to his girl friend, he brought a key holder that price is 350 baht.

After that we went back to ABAC to study World Civilization subject, we did not want to miss this class because the teacher would told us about the points of midterm exam. I felt very excited because I did not satisfy when I leave the examination room. I got 17 points from 20 that was good for me.

@ Hamra Bar & Restaurant
In the evening, my friend named Nick wanted to banquet her birthday. There were 11 persons, we celebrated at Hamra Bar & Restaurant but we always called New Light because it was the old name, it is near ABAC. There was surprise to Nick because my friends named Ploy and Nan gave her a cake birthday; it was vanilla cake and in the front was Mickey Mouse. We ordered a tap of beer and many foods. I painted the cake on my friend’ face named Film and he painted me too.

On next Monday, my friend named Tar will banquet her birthday at Hamra Bar & Restaurant too; we often celebrate at there because I know the employee of Hamra that we can celebrate in loud noise. I did not buy gifts to Nick and Tar yet, I think I will buy it about the last day of this month because on 24 and 25 January were my friends’s birthday named Pakbung and Pai. The most important reason is I did not have money enough to buy gifts because I just buy a rabbit and I buy many things to it.
